Global GIS Day

Since its inception several years ago, the „Global GIS Day“ has been coordinated in Austria by Z_GIS with support from the Austrian Umbrella Organisation for GI (AGEO). This annual event is a major public relations initiative fostering geographic information science and technology by raising public awareness and motivating young people to look into this area for possible further education and careers.

On www.gisday.at a digital:earth:at-managed interactive website assists with coordinating and matching various offers from industry and public administration (like demonstrations, open house, guided tours) with groups from schools across the country.
